I have a friend (from church) who raises & sells beef cows - cheap! We could split one.

I also have an under-performing vegetable garden and my herb pots this year couldn't even sustain my mint. It was all a mess. I'm hoping next summer will be better. My 3 year old loved having a garden to check for vegetables each day. I can only imagine how great it would be if I actually had stuff for him to pick.

I actually have a pretty decent thumb-- and even grew a pretty good vegetable garden two years ago-- but I didn't know how to harvest/store everything I was growing so a lot of it was going bad before I picked it or managed to use it. I feel much better about leaving it to the experts at the farmer's market (;

I might have a black thumb too, but I'm blaming it on the lack of sunlight in my basement apartment.

Like the usual thing that we do to our kids, playing is the best solution to it. You can do whatever you wanted them to do and then challenge them that if they do good you will give them incentives. That would really make sense and making the whole activity free from stress.

Jessica, I totally agree. I find that when I spend some time really playing with my little guy, he is more apt to play independently for a few minutes. And what is WITH toddlers and knives in the dishwasher?!?

And don't even get me started on how much easier chores are without a little "help"!
