Who wants another post about sick kids?

Sick, sick, sick. Do you want the long version or the short version? OK, short it is. My kids have been so sick this winter that we have not all been to church together in 5 weeks! And one gross detail, just for fun…One of my angels threw up in my mom’s jacuzzi tub last [...]

Laundry by the numbers

Weekly, I wash… 42 shirts 42 pairs of pants, give or take. The girls don’t believe in re-wearing their jeans… 35 pairs of underwear piles of towels/sheets/burp cloths 84 socks Not to mention dresses, sweaters, PJs, teddy bears, undershirts, and pockets full of tissues! It’s too bad that there is only the occasional dollar bill…

Some thoughts on four

Four is not as hard as two. Two was the hardest, three was not so bad, four is pretty easy. Everyone asks me how it is, having four. It seems that a family with four children is a lot like a pregnant woman–everyone is interested, everyone has questions, everyone has ideas. So I’ve been telling [...]

Sick day "fun"

Georgia and Sydney were both sick yesterday, so today I am stuck at home with two kind-of-but-not-very-sick girls. This afternoon, they watched The Little Mermaid and Sydney was interested in the way Ursula (the sea witch) said that Ariel would belong to her. Here’s Sydney’s take:

But during any extended period of being together, they start to get on each others’ nerves. There is whining, crying, screaming, pushing, and arguing [...]

We have the greatest family, Part 2

So, as I was saying, we recently came home from vacation in Myrtle Beach. And, as I was saying, I will write about our drives to and from vacation in a later post. But for now, a bit of background. Three years ago, we moved into our current house from a townhouse. And like most [...]

We have the greatest family, Part 1

We recently got back from an amazing vacation in Myrtle Beach. My in-laws rented a beautiful, three bedroom oceanfront condo and let our family have two of the bedrooms. Vacation with the girls NOT in our room–Sweet! I will be writing more about our trip down in a future post, but our vacation was nothing [...]

Sisters Sharing Rooms

Audrey (7) and Georgia (almost 5) have been sharing a bedroom for the past three years. We moved out of a three bedroom townhouse into this four bedroom single family home and Georgia moved from the nursery into a big-girl room with her sister. It helped that the room was already painted purple and yellow [...]
