Parental controls on smartphones

I participated in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Zact. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Just like their mom, my kids love technological devices. They have no problem navigating Rich and my smartphones. Even 3-year-old Joel is able to find the games he wants to play or videos he wants to watch. And of course, they would each love to have their own smartphone! But, like 73% of US parents, we are concerned about the lack of control we would have over our kids’ smartphone use if they had their own device. Check out the infographic below from Zact to find out more stats about families and smartphones.

Does your tween have a smartphone? When did he/she get it, or when are you planning to allow him/her to get one?

My 11-year-old nephew just got his first cell phone, and all I could think was, “Isn’t he too young for that?!” Scary to think it’s the norm nowadays. I can’t believe how many kids are getting smart phones and at such young ages. Great info in the post- I’ll keep it in the back of my head for when my daughter is old enough for her own phone. (Eek!)
