This summer has been packed with fun already! Even before Audrey and Georgia were finished with school, Sydney had three weeks of summer camp after preschool ended. Her days were full of crafts, games, and water play while the big girls were still nose-to-the-grindstone.
Then, the week after school ended, all three girls were able to attend a neighborhood Vacation Bible School. They had full, 9-3 days of singing, crafting, playing, dramas, and swimming in the high school pool.
The next week, Audrey went to my parents’ house for Grandma camp, which finished up on Wednesday with a grandma-mommy-kid trip to Dutch Wonderland.
Not to mention summer reading, trips to the pool, and working on summer review packets from school.
So yesterday was the girls’ first real day of staying at home, nothing on the agenda. And they enjoyed it to the fullest!
They spent the entire morning up in their rooms, playing with their American Girl dolls and Build-a-Bears. Their floor was covered with little shoes, purses, and pairs of pants. Joel and I spent the morning building with blocks, playing with his basketball hoop, and reading endless books.
It felt great to have a lazy summer morning at home. Next week: We are getting back into the chore jars!
What have you been up to so far this summer?
