My (school year) nemesis

There are two main things I struggle with during the school year. The first is packing lunches. I hate packing lunches because Audrey won’t eat sandwiches. Her other problem is that she gets tired of things after eating them just a couple of times. Fortunately, Georgia loves sandwiches and is very easy to pack for, so this year definitely could’ve been worse in the lunch category.

My other problem during the school year is the whole homework thing. My girls are, in my opinion, lucky in that they get very little homework. Georgia comes home each Monday afternoon with a packet of four quick worksheets that she can do any time and turn in on Friday. She usually finishes them on Monday afternoons in about ten minutes.

Audrey has a math sheet and a spelling activity each night, Monday-Thursday. If she got right down to it, her homework would take no more than 15 minutes. But frequently, completing the homework becomes a fight.

We also don't eat sandwiches at our house and some of our favorites are:
crackers (or veggies) and hummus (super easy and yummy!)
Yogurt, along with some granola and fruit makes a great and easy parfait to pack along with a cheese stick.
Bagel with a spread of your choosing.
Homemade mac and cheese, and yep when we are on the go we eat it cold!
    Small salad.
Veggies and Dig along with a cheese stick.
I find that most kids actually eat too much for lunch so pack light and have fun with it.
A pita stuffed with some veggies or grilled chicken
Bean salad with a handful of chips and salsa along with some fruit and cheese cubes
and our all time favorite- cereal- who says you can't have cereal for lunch, pack it in a bowl and let her buy a milk, think of it as breakfast for lunch :)
